Hello, As a friendly reminder, there are only 4 days left to pay after today to pay for the athletic awards dinners. The dinners will be held at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant in Franklin Square. The girls' dinner will be on June 8th. The last day to pay for the dinner will be May 18th. Reservation forms can be picked up from the athletic office. It would be nice to get the entire team back together for one last evening. Mr. Mistretta Athletic Director

Our students experienced how STEM is utilized by the US Army. The STEM truck provided the students with a few simulations to explore the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math.

Congratulations to the girls varsity softball team. The Team remains in first place with a 21-4 victory over Great Neck South High School yesterday. Ashlee Boodoo went 5 for 5 with a double, 5 runs scored and 1 RBI, Emma Shinsato went 3 for 5 with 4 runs scored and 5 RBIs. Winning pitcher Isabella Torres scattered 5 hits while striking out 4. The team will host Hewlett High School on Monday, May 9th, game time is 5:00pm. Come support the seniors as they play in their last home game. Senior ceremony at 4:30pm.

Here are the Regents Review classes the HS is offering. This is a great opportunity to prepare yourself for the Regents Exams in June!

Congrats to the latest Principal’s Pick recipients. They demonstrated persistence, took responsible risks, and remain open to continuous learning. Great job!!

The students in Ms. Ross-Dinin’s Digital Photography class participating in the student-design lesson about forced perspective. The final photos were fantastic.

Olufoyinsola Esan and Sofia Sheehan won their doubles match vs. Lynbrook today!!! They demonstrated great effort and teamwork!!!!

Congratulations to the boys varsity Track & Field team on their victory at home against Seaford, Malverne, and Locust Valley. Jordan DeJesus won both the 100 and 200, while Damilola Babalola won both the 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles. Derek Chinchilla finished first in the 400, and Giuseppe D´Agosto finished 2nd in the discus. Jurrel Hall and Anthony Graffeo Jackson went 1-2 in the high jump and triple jump, and Hall also won the long jump. Jurrel Hall´s high jump of 6 feet 1 inch broke a West Hempstead record set back in 2014. The 4x100 relay of DeJesus, Pierre, Leslie, and Babalola closed the meet with a close win over Malverne. Congratulations RAMS!!!

If your child is interested in playing a fall sport at the high school the following coaches will be holding meetings: • Girls Soccer on Friday, April 29th at 3:30pm in the Gym. • Girls Varsity Tennis on Monday, May 2nd at 3pm in the bleachers by the tennis courts. • Football on Tuesday, May 3rd at 2:45pm in the Gym.

Congratulations to the girls varsity softball team. The Varsity Softball Team remains undefeated with a record of 8-0 with a 14-1 victory over Roslyn High School yesterday. Joey Axel went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBIs, Samantha Mitchell went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and Emma Shinsato went 2 for 2 with 3 runs scored and 1 RBI. Winning pitcher Jennie Axel gave up 2 hits while striking out 5. The team will host Cold Spring Harbor on Thursday, game time is 5:00pm. Come support the RAMS!!!

Congratulations to the boys varsity tennis team. The team remains undefeated. The Boys Varsity Tennis team improved its record to 6 and 0 with a win over Baldwin High School yesterday. Ian Williams and Aden Palmer won in singles. Tenoch Jaramillo, Dylan Ramsahai, Mahib Rahman and Andrew Cobos won in doubles.

Don’t miss out on Family Literacy Night this Thursday from 6:30-8:30 PM. The event will celebrate literature from different cultures. All are welcome.

The West Hempstead Athletics Department is excited to announce that tomorrow at 5:00pm West Hempstead will be hosting the inaugural game for our Girls’ Flag Football team. Please come and show your support for our girls as they take on Plainview Old Bethpage High School. Everyone involved will be a part of something momentous for our high school and our district. We hope you can make it out to the game. Come support the RAMS!!!!

Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team. The varsity softball team improved its league record to 5-0 with a 19-5 victory over Great Neck South yesterday. Joey Axel went 5 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored and Ashlee Boodoo went 5 for 5 with a home run, a double and 4 runs scored. Pitcher Jennie Axel scattered 9 hits while striking out 10. The team’s next game is Wednesday, April 20 at Hewlett, game time is 10am.
