Hello, The secondary school fall season ( grades 7&8) for athletics begins on September 6th. Since we started the process three weeks ago, I do need to remind everyone that even though you register for FamilyID and you will get a confirmation email saying you completed your registration, your child is not cleared to play. The nurse has to review everyone's account; if there are any errors to your account, the nurse will send you an email stating what is missing from your account and what needs to be submitted. It is very important to check to see when your child's physical expires. Also, for the code of conduct, the concussion form must have a parent and student's signature. Also, please do not drop off any paperwork, for example, parental consent, code of conduct, etc. to the nurse. The only way to register for the fall season is through FamilyID. After the nurse reviews, each student's account and after everything has been submitted, the nurse will mark it complete. On the first day of tryouts, each coach will get a list of students cleared. Only if your child is on the nurse's list saying they are cleared to try out, only those students can try out. The nurse will be in tomorrow from 10:00am -2:00pm. The school nurse is the only person who can clear students to play a sport during the fall season. Also, the only way to determine if the district is able to field certain teams is by registering for Family ID as soon as possible. The directions to register for FamilyID are posted on the website on the athletics homepage. As of this morning, here is a breakdown by each sport of how many students are registered for each team. Football has 7 students. To be able to field a team we need at least 23 students Girls Soccer has 8 students. To be able to field a team we need at least 16 students Cheerleading has 9 students Boys Soccer has 9 students. To be able to field a team we need at least 16 students Cross Country has 3 students. We need at least another 10 students * Please register as soon as possible if you want to be eligible to play in the first game/match/ meet. Football requires 10 practices and all the other sports require 6 practices. Any questions, please email me at cmistretta@whufsd.com. Thank you. Mr. Mistretta Athletic Director
