Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day. There was a tradition of decorating graves with flags, flowers, and wreaths. Today is a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country.

As a reminder, the Board will host its first meeting tonight, May 24, to discuss its next steps following the defeat of the proposed 2023-24 budget. Tonight’s meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at West Hempstead Secondary School in the videoconference room.
As the Board seeks to formulate the revised plan that will be presented to voters on Tuesday, June 20, all residents are encouraged to attend to provide input. We look forward to seeing you there!
