The 2022-2023 District Calendar lists three potential instructional days to be restored to the calendar in the event of lost days due to weather or emergency closings. The dates listed on the main calendar are incorrect (the one-page calendar is correct). In the event days need to be restored, the following days will be utilized as follows: May 26th and April 14th. These were the days approved by the Board of Education. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Dear West Hempstead School Community,
At yesterday evening's Board of Education meeting, the Board accepted Faith Tripp's resignation as Chestnut Street School's principal. We thank Ms. Tripp for her years of service to our district's students. I know you will join me in wishing Ms. Tripp well in her new endeavor.
The Board of Education has appointed Dr. Lisa Minicozzi as an interim principal, who will begin with the district tomorrow. She is a former K-12 school teacher and K-5 principal. Dr. Minicozzi joins our district with a wealth of educational experience and has served in various roles throughout her career. Most recently, she has served as the Clinical Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education and Program Director for Educational Leadership in the College of Education & Health Studies at Adelphi University.
We welcome Dr. Minicozzi to our great district and look forward to the contributions she will add to our RamCulture!
