Ms. Victoria Bento, FACS teacher @wh_secondary, and her husband, Michael Bento (Class of 2007), are in Paris at the Olympics for the Track and Field finals. Michael is representing the Rams in his 2005 division championship shirt, the first time since the '80s that West Hempstead has won the division title. The men's mile (1500m) final is tonight, and that's one of the events he ran in that championship. Let's go, USA! Let's go, Rams! #WHe

It is with great pleasure that I introduce Ms. Robyn Milliner as our new principal of George Washington. Ms. Milliner brings invaluable experience and a steadfast commitment to educational excellence that will enrich our school district.
Over the past nine years, Ms. Milliner has served as a school leader throughout New York City public schools, where she has garnered a well-deserved reputation for fostering a nurturing and dynamic learning environment. Her approach to leadership is rooted in promoting academic achievement, cultivating strong relationships between students and teachers, and encouraging personal growth for all.
Ms. Milliner's impressive background includes spearheading initiatives that have yielded remarkable results. As principal of a single-gender school, she piloted a phonics curriculum aligned with best practices, resulting in 98% of her kindergarteners reading at or above grade level by the end of the 2022-2023 school year. This achievement is a testament to her ability to coach and develop teachers in implementing innovative practices that drive student success.
Furthermore, Ms. Milliner's experience as a turnaround school leader showcases her expertise in change management and collaborative problem-solving. She has successfully led teams in enhancing mindsets and practices, resulting in improved academic outcomes and a four-year charter renewal for her previous school.
With her wealth of knowledge, passion for education, and commitment to creating inclusive and supportive environments, Ms. Milliner is poised to lead George Washington Intermediate School into an exciting new chapter. Please join me in welcoming her to our community and extending your full support as she embarks on this new journey.
Please take a moment to welcome Ms. Milliner to the RamFam.
Sincerely,
Dan Rehman
Superintendent of Schools
