The West Hempstead School District celebrated School Board Recognition Week during their monthly meeting on Oct. 18.
West Hempstead Secondary School’s Chamber Choir kicked off the evening with a musical performance. Laila Sales, the district’s director fine, performing, and culinary arts, shared a video presentation to celebrate the district’s board members.
“In honor of Board Recognition Week, I’d like to say thank you to the board and thank you for being a community that’s committed to education and committed to the students,” Mrs. Sales said.
Each of the board members also received gifts for their service to the school community. The New York State School Boards Association’s School Board Recognition Week spans from Oct. 17-21. The district wishes to thank all the board members for their dedication to the community.
