From Feb. 27-28, eighth grade family and consumer sciences students at West Hempstead Secondary School put their culinary creativity to the test during a Cupcake Wars competition.
During the hands-on activity at the secondary school, Ms. Stacy Gulisano’s FACS class showcased their digital literacy skills by incorporating AI into their delicious designs. Combining technology with taste, students brought their ideas to life by baking and decorating cupcakes to match their AI-designed version in the school’s FACS cooking lab. District administrators and staff members volunteered to judge each of the cupcake designs on display, which featured different themes ranging from sports to tropical settings.
