On Nov. 9, West Hempstead Secondary School’s boys cross country team of Justin Delavandel, Jeremy Haynes, Joseph Santos-Acosta, Christian Dominguez and Lukas Santana advanced to the New York State Cross Country Championship with a first-place finish at the New York State Qualifiers.
This marks the first time in school history that the Rams have qualified as a team. Additionally, on the girls side, Karen Orozco-Castro was able to capture an individual spot to states with her performance. These six athletes will be representing West Hempstead at Queensbury High School on Nov. 16.
The district commends all of our track and field standouts on this incredible achievement.
