In partnership with KidOYO — a leading platform dedicated to empowering young coders and innovators — the @WHGWashington Hackathon teams are channeling their critical thinking, creativity, and passion for coding into an extraordinary Spring competition experience. Students worked side by side, solving real challenges in real time, and representing West Hempstead with the pride and determination that defines our district.
Sporting their signature black and gold "WHe HACK... and Attack" gear, our Rams showed up ready — and they delivered. From laptops to laughter, the event captured everything WHe love about student-driven learning: collaboration, perseverance, and the joy of creating something from nothing.

West Hempstead UFSD is proud to spotlight the incredible work happening at @CornwellAveES, where student leadership is turning recycled materials into real, lasting change.
The school's Recycling Club and Student Council are on the verge of a remarkable milestone — nearly 500 pounds of collected materials destined for their Buddy Bench project. This student-driven initiative transforms recyclables into a symbol of belonging, kindness, and environmental responsibility right in their own schoolyard.
To honor the contributions of every student, each class is receiving seed bookmarks — a meaningful token that reflects the spirit of growth these young leaders embody every day.
This past Friday, @CornwellAveES hosted a vibrant Recycling Day Event that brought the entire school community together — parents, students, and staff — for an afternoon of hands-on building, creativity, and collaboration.
