From Feb. 15-16, students at George Washington School in West Hempstead had fun promoting health and wellness during their participation in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge.
Coordinated by physical education teachers Dana Taglioni and Chris Van Kovics, the event was held during recess and gave the students the opportunity to participate in jump rope activities while learning about how their hearts work and physical activities to improve their health. For more than a decade, George Washington has participated in this nationwide fundraiser promoting physical activity, heart-healthy living, and community service for students.
