Students at Cornwell Avenue School and George Washington School in West Hempstead honored their police officers in recognition of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
Assisted by their teachers, students took time to prepare their own heartfelt letters, drawings and posters to thank members of the Nassau County Police Department’s 5th Precinct. On Jan. 8, a representative of State Assemblyman Ed Ra visited both schools to collect the thank-you notes from students.
The West Hempstead School District thanks its local police officers for providing safety and security in West Hempstead school community.
