Pre-kindergartners and kindergartners at Chestnut Street School in West Hempstead held two daylong celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day on March 15 and 18.
Students and teachers wore green hats, shades and outfits as they participated in numerous activities throughout the school. Many of the classrooms were filled with green clovers and footprints of leprechauns, and students learned about the rich tradition of St. Patrick’s Day.
Additionally, students discussed why they feel lucky this year and they crafted colorful rainbows and pots of gold, which are on the display in the school’s hallways.
