On June 16, kindergartners at Chestnut Street School in West Hempstead celebrated their achievements during the school’s moving-up ceremony.
District administrators, staff and parents were in attendance as students sang several songs that were themed around taking the next step in their educational journey. Additionally, kindergartner Mateo Oyales was surprised by his father, U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Christopher Oyales, who returned from his service in Kuwait to celebrate with his son.
