Several shades of green could be seen throughout Chestnut Street School in West Hempstead during its St. Patrick’s Day celebration on March 17.
Students and teachers filled the school’s gymnasium as they watched a performance from the Chestnut Street School Pipe Band. Led by Chestnut Street building worker Dan Hamilton, the band performed traditional Irish songs and shared the history of St. Patrick’s Day.
After the celebration, students lined up to thank the Pipe Band and checked out their instruments.
