Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the Chestnut Street School! I am excited to begin my third year as principal. I have had the privilege of working in West Hempstead for the past four years, and I look forward to continuing to grow with the students and community of this amazing school district.

We are thrilled to be the first stop in your child’s learning journey through the West Hempstead schools. We are committed to making this year an exceptional and memorable learning experience for all of our students.

Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment. We want your child to be eager to come to school each day and always leave our care with a smile on his or her face.  We are dedicated to forming a love of learning and a solid, lasting academic foundation for our precious early childhood students. We will provide an unparalleled educational experience that will prepare your child to achieve academic excellence. Finally, we recognize that social/emotional development is as essential to student success as academics.

The foundation of our success is based on the partnerships among students, teachers, and families.  We encourage you to be an active part of your child’s academic experience at the Chestnut Street School. Please share your thoughts and ideas. Join the PTA or SEPTA! Keep an open line of communication with your child’s teachers and service providers. My door is always open. Please call, email, or stop in to speak to me.  I can be reached at 516-390-3150 or at ftripp@whufsd.com. Please follow us on Twitter @WHChestnut.

Thank you for sharing your children; they are truly a gift to us.

Warm Regards,

Faith Tripp
Principal
